The phylum which contains thousands of multivarious species containing diversified adapted forms is considered as Major Phylum whereas the Phylum which contains few species only with doubtful affinity is considered as Minor Phylum, for example Phylum – Bryozoa – Lopophus. Major phyla with examples are – Protozoa – Amoeba, Porifera – Scypha.
