The juxta glomerular apparatus consists of macula densa cells in the initial portion of the distal tubule and juxta glomerular cells in the walls of the afferent and efferent arterioles.

Its significant is as follows :
The tubulo glomerular feedback mechanism which play a role in autoregulation of GFR, depends on special natomical arrangement of the juxta glomerular apparatus.
