Amphibians can be defined as a group of poikilothermic vertebrates with naked glandular moist skin, if granular scales are present they are deeply embedded in the skin.
Indian examples – (1) Ichtyophis glutinosa (Order – Apoda), (2) Tylototriton verrucosus (Order – Urodela, (3) Rana tigrina (Order – Anura)
