What are enzymes?
Ans: The Macromolecules which are formed in the living cells , protein in nature, organic catalyst, facilitates chemical reactions and remain unchanged after the reaction are called enzymes.
Classify enzymes in the context of modern knowledge.
Ans: The international Union of Biochemistry (1961) classified the essential enzymes in eight class or groups, they are –
(i) Hydrolases, (ii) Oxido-reductase, (iii) Transferase, (iv) isomerase, (v) Hydrases, (vi) Coagulative enzyme, (vii) Lysases, (viii) Ligase or Synthetase.
